The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil is creating ripples in the fashion world. The latest example is a new collaboration between Puma and Alexander McQueen. It’s the special edition Puma King by Alexander McQueen, a football boot commemorating the upcoming World Cup.
The Alexander McQueen version of the Puma King is actually split into two designs – a version wrapped in fish skin, and another in rich, chestnut brown Italian leather. Both styles pay explicit homage to the famous Puma King shoe while providing a high fashion twist of their own.
Unfortunately if you were hoping to get your hands on a pair, the Alexander McQueen Puma King is an extremely limited edition shoe, with only 100 pieces being made (70 leather, 30 fish skin). And furthermore, what few pairs there are won’t even be up for sale, instead being given away to friends of the Puma and Alexander McQueen companies.
If you don’t expect to get a free pair of Alexander McQueen Puma Kings, don’t worry – you can check out a short film about the collaboration below, as well as a few photos of both versions of the shoe in the gallery up top.
