The latest in Bugatti‘s six-part Bugatti Legends series has been unveiled by the company, and it breaks the pattern established by previous cars in the series. Instead of being named for a famous person integral to Bugatti’s history , the fifth Bugatti Legends entry is named after a legendary car from Bugatti’s past: The Bugatti Type 18, otherwise known as Black Bess.
No, that’s not the car made famous by the Green Hornet (that would be Black Beauty), but instead it’s considered one of the first true sports cars, bringing an unprecedented level of speed and performance to the automotive world of 1912. And the Bugatti Veyron Black Bess Edition pays tribute to its famous great-great-great grandmother with hand-painted motifs from the original Black Bess on the doors.
The Bugatti Veyron Black Bess Edition will be available in only three pieces, just like previous cars in the Bugatti Legends series, and each one will cost about $3 million each. But you can get a good look at the car in the gallery up top, and that’s absolutely free. Enjoy. And for more, check out Bugatti’s website here.
