At the upcoming 2014 New York International Auto Show, one of BMW‘s big offerings will be the BMW X5 eDrive concept vehicle. Like you probably guessed from the name, the new BMW X5 eDrive is an SUV with a strong focus on environmental friendliness—it runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that, according to BMW, can dash through up to 20 miles at 75 miles per hour before using a single drop of gasoline.
The BMW X5 eDrive first debuted in Frankfurt, but BMW has already leaked some additional info on the concept vehicle’s New York incarnation, like the 245 horsepower engine and 95 horsepower electric motor that live together under the hood.
As for how the BMW X5 eDrive concept SUV looks, you can see it in a bunch of promotional pictures from BMW in the gallery up at the top. Since this is just a concept for now, release details (if and when the X5 eDrive goes into production) are still a ways off, but stay tuned for more info after the vehicle’s New York unveiling.
