For the last 80 years or so, the American public has been increasingly exposed to branding and advertising in more and more ways. And those logos and brands have been fertile territory for artists for almost that long.
The latest is Ilya Kalimulin of Russia, who’s unveiled a new photo series that attaches familiar brand names to surprising products. The funny series includes products you probably won’t see in a store any time soon, like a Heinz blood bag, Lipton cigarettes, and Tic Tac dynamite. It seems safe to say that Kalimulin isn’t angling for a job in advertising.
