The (Red) Auction, held at Sotheby’s New York, is one of the most high-profile fundraisers of the entire year, raising money for The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria by auctioning off special edition pieces by famous designers.
One of the items being auctioned off is a special (Red) Leica M camera, designed by Apple’s chief designer Sir Jony Ive and famous industrial designer Marc Newson. The camera is constructed with laser-machined aluminum instead of the usual leather-waisted body, and also sports all the usual high-tech features you expect from a new Leica M camera.
The (Red) Leica M by Marc Newson and Jony Ive goes up for auction next month at Sotheby’s New York. But if you’re going to be busy on November 23rd and can’t attend the (Red) Auction, you might just want to take a look at the camera in the gallery up top.
