Volume Ford dealer Galpin has enlisted the talents of designer Doug Breuninger for the Ford GTR1, recently unveiled at the Quail Motorsports Gathering in Monterey, California.
According to the president of Galpin, Beau Boeckmann, “The concept behind it was to interpret what the Ford GT would look like if it had continued.” That includes a strong progression of performance milestones, as the Galpin Ford GTR1 is reportedly able to hit a top speed of 225 miles per hour, thanks to its twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
Galpin only plans to manufacture a limited run of 24 Ford GTR1’s in waves of six, with each one carrying a $1 million price tag. For more, head to Galpin’s website here, and enjoy a few pictures of the car in the gallery up top.
