The ongoing feud between fashion designer Marc Jacobs and graffiti artist Kidult reached its next chapter recently, as Kidult made his mark on Jacobs’ upscale Paris retail location.
The substance of the tag, the number “686,” is a reference to the suggested retail price of the “Art by Art Jacobs” t-shirt, which Jacobs produced by re-purposing a photograph of Kidult’s previous tagging of his New York City location. This action has really drawn Kidult’s sense of umbrage, as evidenced by both this most recent tagging and the accompanying statement on his Facebook page: “680? 689?…686?! How much are you going to sell this for? #kidultarmyparis.”
If you’re interested in following any further developments to this thing, you might want to check out Kidult’s Facebook page here. It will certainly be interesting to see how Marc Jacobs reacts to this latest attack.
