The Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” colorway were the sneakers worn by Michael Jordan himself during the Chicago Bulls’ iconic “three-peat” string of victories that ultimately lead to another championship title. Now, with Michael Jordan nostalgia reaching a fever pitch, Jordan Brand has staged a retro release of this legendary sneaker.
The shoe’s mostly black coloring is due to an NBA regulation that players could only wear black shoes during the playoffs. And the “Playoffs” Air Jordan 8 also broke ground for its complete lack of Nike branding, as there is no Swoosh in sight. Only the Air Jordan Jumpman.
In the gallery above, there’s a closer look at the Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” retro release. And expect the sneaker to hit the Jordan Brand stockists on June 29th, when it will carry a price tag of $160.
