It’s a good day at Bugatti headquarters, as they just achieved the record for the fastest open-top production car in the world. It’s the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, set to be unveiled at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show.
The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse hit a top speed of 254.04 miles per hour while the German Organization for Technical Inspection and Certification was there to inspect and certify the record-breaking run.
In celebration of the achievement, Bugatti plans to sell eight of their World Record Edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesses, modeled closely after the original, for over $2.5 million each. Or, for the much more affordable sum of $0, you can look at some pictures of the record-breaking automobile in the gallery above.
