Chromebook Pixel: Google’s Answer to the MacBook Air (Video)
Google has set its sights on one more aspect of the technology world: The MacBook Air. Their shot across Apple‘s bow is called the Chromebook Pixel, a portable computer that runs on the Google Chrome Operating System.
Features include a (markedly similar to the MacBook Air’s) 12.85″ display, two USB 2.0 ports, a Mini Display Port connector, and a SD-card reader.
Sounds pretty cool, right? There is one sticking point: The price tag.
The Google Chromebook Pixel will cost you at least $1,300 (that’s if you don’t opt for the $1,450 option with some added extras), which many are saying is out of proportion compared to the actual product. However, for the most part, the people at Google usually seem to know exactly what they are doing, so maybe this will catch on after all. You can see a promotional video for the Chromebook Pixel below, and decide for yourself.
