Las Vegas casinos are not known for being frugal when it comes to interior design. But even by that standard, the Wynn Resorts Limited CEO Steve Wynn’s purchase of a $33.6 million sculpture by artist Jeff Koons is still pretty impressive.
The sculpture, called Tulips, is displayed near the Wynn Theatre Rotunda at the Wynn Las Vegas, and contrary to its bright and colorful balloon-like appearance, it weighs a whopping three tons.
According to Koons, “Tulips is a symbol of hope and the strength of life’s energy.” Pretty expensive symbol, right?
You can check out a couple of photos of Tulips in the gallery above, and decide for yourself if it’s worth the $33.6 million Steve Wynn paid for it.
