Well, gentlemen of the internet, I’ve got some good news and some bad news. First, the bad: unless you live somewhere awesome, like Miami, bikini season is most definitely over. The sweaters have come out, and they’re not going away for a long time. However, here is the good news: now that bikini season is over, we can step back and take stock of all the two-piece beach fashion we’ve seen over the last year. And today what this means is that we have this list of the 75 best celebrity bikinis of 2012. That’s right—75 pictures of attractive women hanging out and looking stylish at the beach or pool and looking. That’s pretty fun, right? Good. So let’s get to it.

Katie Holmes still looks pretty great, and that’s after being married to Tom Cruise for a few years. Imagine how she’ll look when she’s fully recovered from that.

Miley is looking pretty good in this silver bikini.

Naomi Campbell may be one of the world’s most renowned you know whats (it rhymes with “glitch”), but the woman knows how to look good at the beach.

This Victoria’s Secret wore this ruffled bikini well while on a holiday with her significant other, Jason Stratham.

Ashely Greene is looking pretty fantastic in this green bikini, especially for someone who plays a vampire on the silver screen (in the Twilight saga).

This former Hills star looks like she’s just wearing a bra for a bikini top…which is totally fine by me.

Here Kate Hudson is wearing a classic black bikini with a slight twist, and it works quite well. (Now, if only I get through one of her movies.)

Brooke Burke shows still still has an amazing beach body, and that she looks amazing in blue.

I don’t know what she’s doing here, but musician/actor (or is it actor/musician?) Christina Milian looks amazing in this animal print bikini top and jean shorts.

Courtney Cox is still looking pretty great in this black bikini for someone who is 48 years old.

I wouldn’t have thought brown would make a good bikini color, but this former Disney star and current judge on The X Factor looks surprisingly awesome. Who knew?

Hayden Panettiere’s green bikini is simple but elegant. Of course, she’s also flat out hot, and that helps too.

J-Lo is still has a pretty great bikini bod, even at the age of 43. If she didn’t, there’s no way she could have pulled off this bold red bikini.

Julianne Hough has parlayed her success as one of the pros on Dancing with the Stars into a relatively successful music and film career. However, she obviously is still dancing, because she looks absolutely incredible in this blue bikini.

Interestingly, this bikini is actually less revealing that some of the outfits she wears to the clubs on The Jersey Shore.

Tube tops are wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen. Still, I can’t blame Katie for choosing this one. It definitely highlights her, um, features.

Kelly Rowland does try to reinvent the wheel. She keeps things simple with a classic, black and white bikini.

Lea Michele plays one of the most annoying characters on television, but damned if she doesn’t know how to rock a bikini at the beach.

Looking good at the beach can be so simple. For example, Maria Menounos spices up a simple black bikini with a bright yellow wrap.

Megan Fox just had a baby with hubby Brian Austin Green, but back in February, either before she was pregnant or before she was showing, the couple took a little jaunt to Hawaii where she got to show off some of her stylish beachwear.

She always seems to play touch chicks on TV and in movies, but Michelle Rodriguez definitely has a softer side—and that side likes white bikinis.

Here’s another bikini from Billy Ray Cyrus’s daughter. She looks almost good enough to distract me from noticing the massive angel wings tattooed on her friend, but not quite.

Ashlee Simpson may have dropped off the face of the earth (funny how that happens to singers who don’t actually sing), but she still knows how to look good by the pool. This bikini and hat is a winning combo.

I didn’t even know who Bethenny Frankel was before I started researching this list, which is hard to believe, because she looks pretty amazing for a 41-year-old in this perfect yellow bikini.

Denise Richards is looking pretty sleek in all black.

Supermodel Irina Shayk is rocking a look so many celebs were trying out this year: mismatched bikinis.

I’m not a Kate Hudson fan, so I didn’t set out to put her on this list more than once. But you have to give credit where credit it due. So what can I say? The woman knows how to choose a bikini.

Here Maria Menounos shows that she wasn’t wearing that yellow coverup around her waist (which we saw earlier) because she’s embarrassed about any flaws or imperfections in her figure. She is looking a-okay in this simple floral print.

Olive green wouldn’t work for most women, but Olivia Munn has the complexion for it. Though, even if she didn’t, her amazing body would distract you from even noticing the color.

Ironically, Scarlett also looks good in blue.

Like a lot of other celebs, AnnaLynne McCord was rocking the retro look this summer.

I’m pretty sure whatever fame Audrina Patridge enjoys is entirely related to her being hot, so why wouldn’t she have an entire collection of fantastic bikinis?

Here’s Christina Milian again, this time showing off a fantastic striped bikini and a cute kid.

Wouldn’t you like to have this salmon-colored bikini pressed up against you (while covering Hayden Panettiere’s body)?

Yep, Julianne Hough was spotted in more than one fantastic bikini this year.

Either Leann has had some cosmetic work done on her face, or this photo caught her at a weird moment. Regardless, her body and her bikini are top-notch.

I’m not sure how well this color works with Michelle Rodriguez’s skin, but in theory it’s a very nice bikini.

Heart of Dixie star Rachel Bilson is looking as hot as ever in this black number.

This is one of the most “interesting” bikinis on the list. And of course by “interesting” I mean borderline weird. But hey, it’s Whitney Port, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.

Are you ready for this? Elle Macpherson is 49 years old. Based on this photo, that just seems completely unbelievable.

Remember what I said earlier about mismatched tops and bottoms? No? Well trust me, I said it. It’s a trend this year, as evidenced by none other than Jessica Alba.

Rihanna went nuts this year on Twitter, sending out sexy bikini pic after sexy bikini pick.

I think I speak for every heterosexual male on the planet when I say, “Thank you, Rihanna. Keep up the good work!”

Either this photo is from January, or Vanessa Minnillo had the fasted recovery from pregnancy ever. (She just had a baby in September.) Either way, her floral print bikini is a winner.

If the Miami Marlins wore bikinis (and let’s face it, they might yet), this is what they would look like.

The hotter the woman, the simpler the bikini needs to be. And since Bar Refaeli is one of the hottest women on the planet, all she needs is a simple black one.

Angela Simmons is the daughter of legendary hip-hop artist Joseph Simmons (you know, the Run in Run-D.M.C.) and the niece of hip-hop megamogul Russell Simmons. So, um, yeah, she’s had a pretty nice life. And obviously she’s taken advantage of socioeconomic status to learn a thing or two about style.

Like I said before, if a supermodel doesn’t look great at the beach, something is wrong.
