A laptop design company called Uncover has just released a new modified MacBook Pro in honor of Apple’s legendary departed founder and CEO Steve Jobs. It’s part of a charity fundraising effort, so only three of them have been made available for auction thus far.
The most prominent design element of the laptop is the Apple logo, which has been slightly modified to feature Steve Jobs’ profile in silhouette. The new logo was designed by Hong Kong artist Jonathan Mak, and it is not the only modification that should delight fans of the late Jobs. The bottom of each MacBook is emblazoned with the following inspirational quotation from the man himself:
“When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”
If you like what you see, you can put in your own bid for one of these special MacBook Pros at eBid by clicking here. Although, we probably should inform you that the top bid is currently $14,150.40 (as of Wednesday at noon), so this Steve Jobs commemorative MacBook is going to cost you a little more than your average MacBook.
