Intro

longest bars

There’s nothing quite as nice as long bar to get things going. And, as you might expect, there are quite a few bars out there making the claim to be the longest in the world. The task of actually sorting out which is the longest is daunting. But, here are 9 of the longest bars in the world, divided by country. It’s a start, anyway.

York Club, Dubai

York Club, Dubai

The longest bar in Dubai is situated inside the York Hotel. How long? At 66 feet, the bar can seat as many as 700 people at the same time!

Stills Bar, Abu Dhabi

Stills Bar, Abu Dhabi

Dubai of the United Arab Emirates has become quite a vacation destination in recent years. Among its (many) treasures is the Stills Bar & Brasserie, which has the longest bar in all of Dubai at 85 feet long. But at the rate Dubai is growing, don’t expect that record to stay intact for too long.

Infiniti Bar, Turks & Caicos

Infiniti Bar, The Caribbean

The Infiniti Bar at the Grace Bay Club is often billed as the longest bar in the Caribbean, and at 90 feet long it has the length to prove it.  Come for the view, stay for the drinks. Or is that backwards?

Great Banking Hall, Toronto

Great Banking Hall, Toronto

As you might guess from the name, the Great Banking Hall in Toronto, Canada used to be a center of financial commerce. Now, that 100-foot-long teller counter is the longest bar in Canada. No word on whether they have free popcorn on Fridays.

Rand Club, South Africa

Rand Club, South Africa

At around a hundred feet long, the bar at the Rand Club in Johannesburg, South Africa isn’t just the longest bar in the country, but the entire continent of Africa.

Mildura Working Man's Club, Australia

Mildura Working Man's Club, Australia

Although this bar in Victoria, Australia  was once in the Guinness Book of World Records for its 299-foot length, it was unfortunately cleared away in order to make room for more poker machines in 1995. Some people have no respect for a good world record.

Mexicali Beer Hall, Tijuana

Mexicali Beer Hall, Tijuana

Often billed as the “longest bar in the world,” the Mexicali Beer Hall doesn’t quite stretch far enough for that title to be accurate. Still, at 300+ feet, this is mighty impressive.

Port of Tel Aviv, Israel

Port of Tel Aviv, Israel

Another bar claiming to be the longest in the world is at Port of Tel Aviv, in Israel. Close, but no cigar: The 394-foot bar doesn’t quite land it in the first-place slot.

Beer Barrel Saloon, Put in Bay Ohio

Beer Barrel Saloon, Put in Bay Ohio

Generally considered to be the longest bar on the entire planet, the Beer Barrel Saloon in Put-in-Bay, Ohio is 405 feet of pure Midwestern hospitality. The pretzel budget alone must be enough to fund most small businesses.
